Spironolactone

A potassium-sparing diuretic that blocks the action of aldosterone, a hormone that causes the body to retain sodium and water.

Torasemide

A loop diuretic that increases the excretion of sodium, potassium, and water by acting on the loop of henle in the kidneys.

Treatment of edema (swelling) associated with heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or kidney disease.

Management of hypertension (high blood pressure), particularly in patients who have not responded adequately to other diuretics or antihypertensive medications.

This combination therapy leverages the synergistic effects of two diuretics with different mechanisms. Spironolactone inhibits sodium and water reabsorption in the distal tubules of the kidneys by blocking aldosterone receptors, while torasemide inhibits sodium and chloride reabsorption in the loop of Henle, promoting significant diuresis. This combined action leads to increased fluid excretion and a reduction in blood pressure.

Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children. Discard any unused medication after the expiration date.

Use is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless the benefits clearly outweigh the potential risks. Consult your physician.



Children
