    Prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation (AFib) who have at least one risk factor.

    Treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

    Prevention of DVT in patients undergoing hip or knee replacement surgery.

How Abaxis 5 Tab Works

Abaxis 5 Tab (Apixaban) works by blocking the activity of a specific protein in the blood called factor Xa. Factor Xa is involved in the formation of blood clots. By blocking factor Xa, apixaban helps to prevent the formation of new blood clots and helps to prevent existing clots from growing larger.
