Walavin 250mg Tab (Griseofulvin) interferes with the growth of dermatophytes (fungi that cause these infections) by binding to microtubules and disrupting cell division and growth. It is selectively taken up by actively growing fungal cells.
Store at room temperature, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.
Dosage varies depending on the type and severity of infection, patient age, and weight. Always follow the prescribed dosage and duration of treatment provided by your doctor.
Oral administration (tablets or suspension).
Absorption is improved with fatty foods.
Headache
Gastrointestinal upset (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)

Photosensitivity (increased sensitivity to sunlight)
Neutropenia (reduction in white blood cells)
Disulfiramlike reaction (with alcohol consumption)
Avoid alcohol consumption, especially during the first few days of treatment. A disulfiram-like reaction may occur, characterized by flushing, nausea, and vomiting.
Griseofulvin may cause dizziness or fatigue. Avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
Consult your doctor before using griseofulvin if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The drug may cross the placenta and be present in breast milk.
Dosage must be adjusted for children according to their weight and the doctor's instructions.
Patients with impaired kidney function may require dosage adjustments.
